Learn about gardening

When you decide you want to start your first garden, your next question is how do I learn about gardening?
There are ways of learning gardening and the first thing is to lean the basics of gardening. Materials are available that can teach you by distance learning. garden mentainance is mainly done by practicing gardening and in this case you try to put what you have learnt in practice. Therefore establishing your trial garden as you learn is highly recommended.

There are E-books about gardening and these will also give you alot of information to keep on refering to.Some of the best resources I have come accross are as:
Gardening made easy which teaches all aspects of gardening,
Secrets of verical gardening and a guide to growing roses.

The best resource for gardening in my experience I have found are the various forums or gardening communities and I will benefit any new and old gardener because they can ask questions and members are always willing to assist.

The most important areasthat a E-book or a distance learning gardening programme should cover are:
1. Basic agronomy: Explain in basis terms how crops grow and what they need,
2. Site selection,
3. Growing area or media preparation,
4. Planting material selection,
5. The planting process,
6. Care of the planted plants.
These are wide topics which may take time to learn and there will always be new things and experience comes with time. Eventually by practicing, you end up having green fingers.
